The black mamba is not really black it is usually an olive green or light brown. The reason it is called the black mamba is because the inside of it's mouth is black. It is also the most venomous snake in Africa. The toxins in it's venom can kill a full grown man in fifteen minutes.
I always thought Black Mambas were black - it's good to know the facts!
